Collaborative Action Update With Prosocial World

9/14/25

A little background here:

Ricardo and I secured a scholarship to the r3.0 Confluence for ourselves and those we are in collaboration with in the field of restorative action. Through the confluence calls I made a connection to one of the members of the ProSocial World organization which landed a 15 person scholarship for 10 weeks of training with our personal coach, Marcelo. These opportunity have been transformative for us in terms of creating coherence in our collaborative work. Especially since what we do has so many layers it can make people heads spin— including mine.

Today Ricardo Palomino and I met with Robert Styles and Marcelo Catilho of the ProSocial World to explore the deep complexities of Susurros del Agua & the Bioregional Nomad Services.

✨ Key reflections:

  • Education is the main aim – it’s the entry point for real change.

  • Collaboration challenges often stem from limited capacity, mistrust after witnessing the misuse of funds from the ministries and municipalities, and the loss of momentum with participants.

  • Our way forward is to celebrate those who show up: record their stories, highlight their contributions, and amplify what is working rather than correcting or shaming. This is our life's work! Read this twice.

  • Trust grows through recognition. Shining light on members’ strengths allows fear to dissolve into action.

Guidance from Robert:

  • Conflict often happens at the strategy level. Our work is to see through this, name the deeper needs and address them with compassion.

  • Radical Compassion means turning empathy into action to nurture life and relieve suffering—always freely given, never transactional.

    • Feel into what your whole being really wants to be a part of. Is it a complete “YES”?

  • Use positive reinforcement, protect dignity with the least restrictive practices, and experiment gently within our group to see what works.

🌱 Moving forward, we ask:

  • How can we “sky write” or truly amplify the ways we are breathing life into one another?

  • How do we nurture the fabric of love that attracts people to this work?

  • What successes can we celebrate—together, as champions of our worlds?
